How StyleON collects, uses, stores, shares and protects your information when you use the mobile application and related services.

In short: we collect information to operate StyleON, complete orders, arrange delivery and keep the marketplace safe. We do not sell your personal information.

StyleON values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use the StyleON website, waitlist, mobile application and related marketplace services.

By using StyleON, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information we collect

We may collect the following types of information:

Waitlist information

When you join the website waitlist, we collect your email address so we can manage early access and send launch or important service updates.

Account information

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Password authentication data handled securely by our authentication provider
  • Profile photo
  • Account type, such as buyer or seller

Seller information

  • Store name
  • Seller name
  • Store location
  • Optional pickup or branch location
  • Store logo and cover image
  • Product listings, prices, descriptions, categories, and images
  • Seller contact details
  • Subscription or promotion activity

Buyer and order information

  • Cart items
  • Order history
  • Delivery or pickup details
  • Payment status
  • Store interactions
  • Ratings and reviews
  • Messages with sellers

Device and app information

  • Device type
  • Operating system
  • App version
  • Push notification token
  • Crash logs or diagnostic information
  • Usage activity within the app

Location information

  • Location entered manually by you
  • Location selected on a map
  • Device location, if you grant permission

Payment information

StyleON may use third-party payment providers to process payments. We do not store full card details or sensitive payment credentials. Payment providers may collect and process payment information according to their own privacy policies.

StyleON may receive transaction references, amounts and payment status for Mobile Money orders so sellers know when an order has been paid before preparing it. We will never ask for or store your Mobile Money PIN or one-time password.

Messages and communications

We may process in-app messages between buyers and sellers, support requests, reports, and other communications sent through StyleON.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Manage the waitlist and provide closed-beta or launch access
  • Authenticate login and password reset requests
  • Display buyer and seller profiles
  • Show stores, products, and order details
  • Process orders and payments
  • Support delivery or pickup coordination
  • Enable messaging between buyers and sellers
  • Send push notifications and order updates
  • Help sellers manage stores and products
  • Improve search, recommendations, and app performance
  • Detect fraud, abuse, spam, or security issues
  • Respond to support requests
  • Enforce our Terms and Conditions
  • Comply with legal obligations

Authentication and password reset

StyleON uses a third-party authentication provider to manage secure login, sessions, password resets, and account authentication.

We do not manually create password reset tokens or send password reset emails outside the authentication system. Password reset codes, links, and sessions are handled securely by the authentication provider.

How we share information

Sellers

When you place an order or message a store, sellers may receive information needed to fulfill the order, such as your name, order details, delivery or pickup information, and messages.

Buyers

When sellers interact with buyers, buyers may see relevant store information, product details, order status, messages, and seller profile information.

Service providers

We may share information with trusted third-party providers that help us operate StyleON, including:

  • Authentication providers
  • Database and hosting providers
  • Payment processors
  • Delivery partners
  • Push notification providers
  • Analytics or diagnostics providers
  • Customer support tools

For local delivery, relevant pickup, drop-off, recipient and contact details may be shared with Yango or another delivery partner supporting the order.

At present, website waitlist submissions pass through a Supabase Edge Function to a private Telegram bot so the StyleON team can receive and manage them. Supabase and Telegram process this information as service providers under their own terms and privacy practices.

Legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information if required to:

  • Comply with law or legal process
  • Protect StyleON, users, or the public
  • Investigate fraud, abuse, or security threats
  • Enforce our Terms and Conditions
  • Respond to lawful government requests

Business transfers

If StyleON is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

StyleON does not sell your personal information.

Third-party services

StyleON may integrate with third-party services for payments, delivery, maps, authentication, notifications, analytics, and hosting.

These third parties may collect and process information according to their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review their policies.

StyleON is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.

Location data

StyleON may use location information to:

  • Help sellers set store locations
  • Help buyers provide delivery or pickup locations
  • Improve local product and store discovery
  • Support order fulfillment

You can control device location permissions through your device settings. If you disable location access, some location-based features may not work properly.

Push notifications

StyleON may send push notifications for:

  • Order updates
  • Payment requests
  • Delivery updates
  • Messages
  • Store or account activity
  • Important app notices

You can disable push notifications through your device settings, but some important updates may then be unavailable through notifications.

User content

You may upload or submit content such as:

  • Product photos
  • Store images
  • Profile photos
  • Product descriptions
  • Reviews
  • Messages
  • Reports

This content may be visible to other users depending on the feature. For example, product listings may be public, while messages are visible to the conversation participants and may be processed for safety, support, or legal reasons.

Data storage and security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

You are responsible for keeping your account login details confidential.

Data retention and account deletion

We keep your information for as long as needed to:

  • Provide StyleON services
  • Maintain your account
  • Complete orders and transactions
  • Resolve disputes
  • Prevent fraud or abuse
  • Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations
  • Enforce our Terms and Conditions

When information is no longer needed, we may delete, anonymize, or securely retain it as required by law or legitimate business needs.

Account deletion

You may request to delete your account where supported in the app.

After account deletion, we may delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we need to retain certain data for:

  • Completed orders
  • Payment records
  • Fraud prevention
  • Legal compliance
  • Dispute resolution
  • Security logs
  • Backup systems

For sellers, account or store deletion may affect product listings, store visibility, pending orders, and buyer communications.

Depending on your location, including under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) where applicable, you may have rights to:

  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your information
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Withdraw consent

  • Disable certain permissions, such as location or notifications

Children and international transfers

Children's privacy

StyleON is not intended for children below the age required by applicable law to use online marketplace services.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that a child has provided personal information without proper consent, we may delete the information and close the account.

International data transfers

Your information may be stored or processed in countries outside your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws.

Where required, we take steps to protect transferred information according to applicable law.

StyleON is primarily a mobile app, but we or our service providers may use similar technologies such as local storage, device identifiers, analytics tools, or session tokens to:
